Thanks guys. I was just looking for a little feedback as to whether or not y’all thought it would hold up in the long run.
It doesn’t have to provide much structural support thankfully, so I’m thinking it should be ok.

Yes, simple and sufficient. That's how I fixed my urethane SS deflector 25 years ago. I still have it waiting in the shed and the metal tab has not fallen off yet.

Thanks for the reply Quinn. It’s reassuring to know that. I should have no problems with this thing then.

The small things don’t get the same respect as your metal work. Although it’s arguably just as important.

You have set a kinda high standard. ;)

You’re quite possibly right there Duke. I’m sure this simple little repair probably doesn’t rate as high on the importance scale as some of the things I’ve done.
I’m ok with setting a high standard, it just serves as something for me to try and continually improve on!
:)

Looks like that should do it, if the old brittle tabs were (for the most part) holding then this repair should more than work, you would probably bust the extension before you pulled the tab off

Your attention to detail is starting to annoy me!

Car looks amazing.

I can't even think of what the finished product is going to look like.

Thanks Turna!
It’s not even attention to detail on these extensions as far as I’m concerned, it’s more about not having them angled so far inwards that the trunk lid almost hits them every time I close it like they currently do.
That would really be a piss off with fresh paint!

I can visualize the finished product, and if it's anything near how I "see" it, that car is going to be stunning!

No one has any comments on the “fix” for the busted tab??

I thought it was quite elegant in its simplicity personally...
:D
Sorry Donovan! I didn't see this until now. I've been on my car a lot more the last month or so and most of the time I spend on here lately has been to keep up with my thread. Awesome work as always. Considering I've seen entire roof skins attached with that panel bonding adhesive, I think your repair will be a very good one, as long as the adhesive sticks to the filler panel and the metal tab. Since I know you followed the tech sheet to the letter and have experience with this particular product, my guess is it is going to stick well.

I never hope for things to go wrong, but every time it does, you give us an excellent fix that adds to everyone's overall knowledge base.

Here's hoping to no more issues this year! ;)

I just saw it too and I was going to just vote "simply elegant". None of this "elegance in its simplicity" crap. Completely disagree with that!

Seriously, as long as the bond is good, it ain't goin' nowhere . . .
