When looking at rears, try to find a 3:08 or 3:23. You will love the acceleration while highway rpm's will be decent. 2:29's are about as bad as it gets.

i was actually afraid to change ratios. for one, i'd have to mess with the speedo. two, my rpms are at right about 2500 at 60, and i'm only getting at best 17mpg. given that this is my daily driver, it would be terrible for my mileage to suffer any more

I find that unless you are driving exclusivly highway miles, a dead rear ratio is worse on mileage. The factory used those gears for grams-of-pollutants-per-mile, nothing else. I have 3:08's in my 77'TA with a 400 and I get better mileage than you.

i have a good used posi unit for sale.

I see your from Ohio,I live 20 mins south of Sandusky and I have a 2.29 7.5 from my Monte that is in good condition I will sell to you cheap. I need it gone quick.

I just looked up the trip from bellevue to steubenville, its 3 hrs. If you are interested in it you can have it for free but I cant ship it and dont have anything to haul it. So all you'll have to pay for is your gas.

sounds like the complete rear end.
