It could be an axle. Jack it up and pull on each wheel. If I was gonna buy another 7.5 I would go to a pull it yourself yard. Much cheaper.

I'm just speculating, but i think you'd be more inclined to frag a rear end from a hard launch than a hard shift. The hard shifts usually kill transmissions from what I've seen.

And don't try rolling the car around or flat towing it anywhere. If the spiders broke(usually the problem) there is nothing to keep your axles from walking out of the rear.

It's most likely the two pinion gears that broke, they are the weakest part since the side gears are bigger. The pinion shaft is still there to keep the c clips in place locking the axles in place.
