rear end gone?

I think you forgot the pinion shaft is held in place with the pin. I shattered my pinion gears in an Auburn posi and the pinion shaft and c clips kept the axles in place. Once was enough for me.. :mrgreen:
 
Both 7.5's that blew apart on me, the axle walked out of the housing, first one didn't notice until it smashed into the side of the car on its way by (flat towing at night). Second one caught it before it completely exited the car, lol knew to watch for it that time :rofl: .
 
you guys have more guts than me. I blew the rear when I just popped to clutch as friends shop to chirp the tires. It just went bang. We pushed it into the shop, took the auburn posi out and stuck in an open 7.5 and I drove it out of the shop that nite and drove it real gentle till I found the A body rear I was looking for. I didn't have the guts to get on it after the first one blew even tho the pinions in an open are alot beefier than what's in an Auburn.
 
You guys must be doing it wrong. I unleash ALL of my 130hp on my 7.5" regularly with no failures to date. On a good day I can even leave black marks.

you are right, I made a mistake and put a real engine in my car... :mrgreen:
 
no, I said I was doing it wrong..and there are alot of people and family who keep reminding me of that.. :|
 
Back in the day when i had my 84 regal I used to abuse that 7.5 all the time with my SPH 307 (super power house) option code 69BS
