When I sold my 84 Monte Carlo SS it seemed like everyone on the planet was trying to make me kill them! I had offers to scrap it for me, I was offered 1000-1500 by people who needed to bum a cigarette from me, I was even told it was fake! *ss holes all of them look at the carView attachment 70277 View attachment 70278
That's why I tell people I'm a humanist I hate everyone equity! But only when I'm selling something I just don't like people trying to cut me at the knees

98k orignal car thousand bucks! Lucky he still has teath!

People think a craigslist ad is an open invite to treat you like sh*t. As if you're admitting you're down and out or something(like they are)

i had a hell of a time selling my very nice condition '95 Caprice wagon last summer. That kind of car must draw the douchiest of douche bags. Finally an old timer contacted my and wanted it. He said he could see my other cars in the picture and could tell how well I took care of my stuff so he knew it would be a good buy. Finally somebody with some sense.

If I see something on craigslist I'm prepared to pay the asking price if it's as described. If it's a little less than described, I might point it out and ask for a few bucks off. If I'm selling something on Craigslist I usually have it listed rock bottom so I can get it gone and not deal with endless questions from asshats.

Craigslist also has those asshat sellers. I saw a set of bare heads, asked about them, agreed on a price, then he breaks off the deal ignoring me then relist them for a even lower price. That was the oddest seller that I ever delt with.

I hate selling stuff so much that I gave away a wagon rather than deal with all the idiots on CL or ebay.

Beginning of last week a guy on FB was looking for some interior plastic. Specifically a set of nice A pillar trim. I ran out to my garage and took a photo of an extra one that I picked up at a local yard. I have no use for it because its for a coupe. He asked if I would sell it and I said yes. I told him if he wanted a set I could go back to the yard and buy the other side if it was in nice shape but I needed to know what his max was as far as price. He said he would go $50 for the set as long as I didnt charge a fortune to ship. I went back to the yard last Thurs or Fri and bought the other one.
Ive got $40 into 2 pieces of trim and I told him I would send it the cheapest way. Told him I would take paypal. Im still waiting. I dont know if Im ever going to get my money back. Not that its a big amount but I really thought the guy wanted/needed this stuff.
Michael and Jim both know I charge what I pay. Im not making money on this crap. Ive just tried to help out guys trying to find stuff thats getting scarce.
Anyone need a clean set of A pillar trim ?

Damn that sucks being out of pocket due to the cowardice of others.

I've had these same experiences and more with selling cars.

One time I was selling a guitar on ebay and I got some scammer texting me. He sent me the fake paypal payment to make it look like he paid me, so I played along. He gave me a shipping address and I said I shipped it. I told him though he had to pick it up at an address local to hime. I gave him the address. It was his local Sheriffs office. He stopped contacting me.

I had a similar experience with a scammer a few years ago. I kept getting calls from a foreigner who claimed to be a police officer (from another state) by the name of John Smith (that's original). He said I had borrowed some money (which I hadn't) and was trying to collect (since when do police officers do collection calls?). I first told him that I hadn't borrowed any money from anyone. That didn't work. This guy was persistent. I'd get calls for days and days. I then told him that if I had borrowed this money, to send me some official court documents with a court date and that I would show up in court to prove I hadn't borrowed any money from anyone. That didn't work either. I was getting really tired of getting calls from this guy and wanted to make him stop calling for good. I finally had an idea that I figured was worth a try. The next time he called I told him that if he just wasn't gonna quit and really had to have this money that I guess it was time to talk seriously about how to pay it back. I told him that I couldn't talk on the number he had called me on and that if he would call me right back on a different number we could discuss how to resolve this. I gave him the number to the local State Police post. I hung up and never heard from him again! Lol

Might be interested in them!!

I get to deal with the madness every day I was dumb enough to say that I could sell stuff from the owners excavation work, so I get all the winners wondering why you won't sell them a 10k welder for 1500 bucks. Another one I love is selling a Snap On box where guys want to trade you everything lying around their house and nothing being worth anywhere near what the box is.
