Serpentine belt conversion

Hey all, picked up a used serpentine setup off of the S10 forum that I'm on. Ran into quite a dilemma.

Passenger side cylinder head has 1 bolt hole, alternator bracket has 3 bolt holes? Did certain cylinder heads come with more than one bolt hole or something? The engine is a GM Goodwrench crate, but I also looked at the 69' block that we have stored in the garage and it's the same thing. Anyone know what's up? I really don't have the money to shell out for some aftermarket heads to put on a serpentine system

I tooka serp set up from an 89 Blazer on a 76 350 in my 82 with no issues other than the upper hose. I used a 90 350 water next and hose then swapped it backwards to fit. I also used the 89 water pump for the reverse rotation.

What heads do you have right now? If there's not a threaded hole they may have to be drilled/tapped for it.

I've got the stock heads that came on Goodwrench crate engines. I compared them to the heads on a 69' 350 we have sitting in the garage and it's the same way. However, this is a setup from a newer S10. I saw a picture of a 4.3 with the accessories off, and yeah, no way it'll work. 😳 Found a 3rd gen F-body setup used on eBay about an hour from me. Hopefully going to go pick it up sometime next week and delete the smog pump and get the longer belt to route it the other way and clean it up. Thanks for the pictures that I've seen of it though everyone

They will bolt up to any Gen I SBC (so everything but the LT1/L99), not all heads have the holes drilled tapped. What year/motor is the setup off of? If it's from a 60º (2.8, 3.1, etc.) it won't work. 4.3 will.

The setup is off of an 01' S10 with the 4.3. I found a picture of the 4.3 with the front accessories off and it makes more sense to me now.

(Can't link the pictures, sorry)

It's got three holes on the same plane on the p/s cylinder head, whereas mine only has one. I could drill the bottom left hole in that picture, but I'd still be missing the one towards the intake. Also, I would need to plug up one of the water pump holes because the S10 one only has 3. On the newer S10's, the alternator is on the passenger side. I really just want this to bolt right on, I have a couple other projects going on that are taking some modifications to fit right so I'm just getting kind of fed up having to run to the store to get this or that, I'm just gonna stick with a 3rd gen setup. It seems that everyone who has it, likes it.

Are you sure? This guy put the F-body setup on his TPI 3rd gen that originally came with v-belts and he only has one hole in the p/s cylinder head.

Now is the time to start putting brackets on. There is one stud on the passanger side. Hopefully you got the bolts and studs with the brackets, since there are several different sizes. It is best to put the stud in first, so that you have something to hold the bracket in place while you line other stuff up.

Not trying to argue with anyone. It just seems there's so much information about this swap out there, but it's so unorganized and established that it's easy to be misled.

I find it hard to believe, but if it only has one hole I guess it's possible :| I've never seen an accessory bracket that only uses one hole in that spot though.

I have a serpentine setup off of a 91 B-body. My cutlass has the rally pack gauges with the factory voltmeter. It has lights to the right of it but I do not know if any of the lights are alternator/charging lights. My question is which si to cs conversion plug do I purchase; one with a resistor or one without?
