If you have the volt gauge, use this one.

Sorry to pick everyone's brain for the hundreth time. What upper radiator hose and thermostat housing is everyone using? It looks like the way the F-body accessories sit, may come in contact with the hose. It's a stock 79' malibu radiator.

I know that this is an old thread, but I figured that I'd up date it with my situation. I've been using the Edelbrock tubular exhaust system, and the heat stove on the passenger side header was causing interference with the A.I.R. plumbing. I had a second set of the Edelbrock shorty headers that I got from a friend years ago, after a BBC swap was done on her car, so I transferred the heat stove to the driver's side header, and altered a mid '80's Camaro air cleaner assembly, so that the air cleaner snorkel comes out on the driver's side now. I'm using the Firebird A.I.R. pump, but with the Monte Carlo A.I.R. diverter/manifold assembly, and a fabricated mounting bracket for the diverter/manifold, and some modified hoses to connect to the headers and the A.I.R. pipe to the catalytic converter. It should be finished soon. I'm seeing some light at the end of the tunnel now.

No, but a serpentine setup is a better belt system than the old v-belt setup.

I think a sticky needs to be made listing all specific models ie the s10 and f-bodies, and also what size engine and year.

Now my question is can you take a serpentine setup from a v6 f-body and swap it to a gen I 350? IMO the v belts are just simpler because they are what came on our cars in the first place. I may look into swapping to serp later on down the road, but I've got enough projects on the bu as it is.

you can use any v6 or v8 serpentine kit from any non-LS motor. but the belts are different. mine is actually a V6 system.

does this increase hp ?
it doesn't increase the power output of the cylinders, but since it uses less HP (actually torque) to drive you have more available power at the flywheel/tires.

Not 100% but I don't think you will be able to use an f-body v6's set-up. They are 60 degrees instead of 90 degrees.

x2. The only v6 you wouldn't be able to use is likely the 60º motors (which happens to be the bulk of the v6 family), and I doubt the FWD setups are even worth looking at... that leaves the 4.3 (S-series, C/K-series, Vans, etc.). I believe most SBC setups will work, I believe you could even make an LT1 setup work if you want to use an electric water pump.
