Thanks Jack. Yeah, I think the truck bracket is going to do the trick. If anyone needs a cleaned/painted 307 throttle cable bracket, I have one I can't use. I boxed it up and it's sitting on the shelf.
I might hit you up on that here in a few weeks if you can hold onto it.

Started pulling the driver's side inner fender. Pulled the cruise transducer, the windshield washer reservoir, the fender to core support brace, the inner fender to core support brace, the wiper motor and most of the bolts securing the inner fender. The lowest rear bolt from the inner fender to the fender is virtually inaccessible. I bought one of those tite-wrench's. Hopefully that will do the trick.

Since I was temporarily foiled by the inaccessible bolt, I started digging into the diesel wiring that was just taped into the harness when the car was converted to gas. After I got everything untaped it started looking like spaghetti.....

I started pulling the diesel specific (unneeded) wires out of the loom and laying them over the top of the fender. I have about 9 wires it looks like I can eliminate. I'm going to study the wiring diagrams to see if I can find a good switched hot for my choke. The previous owner just had the choke wire tapped off of the hot to the coil 😡.

Wiper motor wire (yellow?) or brown alternator wire is a good choice. From factory I think the choke wire was teed into the oil pressure sender. No oil pressure, no choke.

Got the driver's side inner fender out tonight and pulled down a lot of the sound deadening plastic/insulation (diesel) off of the firewall. I now have a better look at the
previous owner's can opener job on the firewall for the clutch rod. Discovered some pretty scaley rust and some blow outs under the clutch rod. I'll wait until I get it cleaned up better before I decide how I will fix it. I'll likely pull the hydroboost next so I can get the remainder of the driver's side half of the sound deadening plastic out from under it. I also have a fresh remanufactured unit to go in its place.
