The factory horn buttons for those, (I used an older amcjeep one lol) look almost identical to the buick T-type/GN ones. Most people would never know it came from a jeep, oh yeah and AMC cars had similar variations of that wheel too.

Very good to know. I'll add that to the vast database of stuff to watch for in boneyards!

My vote is for the T/A -Formula wheel. You can pick up a Pontiac arrowhead to replace the "screaming chicken" on the horn button. PY sells them. That's what came on the '70-'72 GTO's that had the Formula wheel option. I just picked up a Formula wheel for my Lemans so I might not be a completely unbiased vote...

My first choice was the early 70's formula wheel but nice ones are priced too high. As far as horn buttons for the 3rd gen t/a wheel, I have seen 4 different ones, a screaming chicken (most common), a standard fiero emblem, a fiero gt emblem (which is more like a laquered insert) and on that simply has the word PONTIAC carved in it like the screaming chicken. That is the one I am looking for.

Those cherokee wheels look decent and I imagine you can change out the center emblem?

Yup, you can either use a GM center cap, or just pop out the little jeep center emblem, and replacee it with a GM of your choice emblem. The old key chains that had the little rubber pendant with the steel backing is the perfect size  .

Oh, and in order for this to work properly, you would need to grab the turn signal cancelling cam that goes with it along with the jumper wire. (from the donor jeep)

G-Body_Vet sorry I'm the 1 vote for the wood grain , my thought is if your not changing the rest of your interior I think it would match the best ( MY OPINION ) 😀 apparently i'm a little odd oh well , post pics with your decision

my interior is blue and I bought a blue Monte SS wheel...I think it looks good and I just have to change the insignia in the horn button

Fooled me! Here's a TA wheel with St. Christopher medal horn button. Notice how I cleverly used SEM Colorcoat to match the interior color.

Hey Bonnewagon, When you colored your wheel with the SEM, how long did it take to dry, how many coats did you use and have you had any problems with flaking or peeling paint since then? I would like to change the color of my T/A wheel and already have some of that SEM color coat that I used on my speaker grills to mach the doorpanels but was worried about it comming off with use

I actually had the same wheel in my LeMans. I thought it went good with the woodgrain. This time around I'll probably go with black because of the interior. You guys dig that old school alarm under there huh? I took that out shortly after I got the car.

Dean, I just followed the directions on the can, several light coats with something like 20 minutes between coats but I allways overdo it anyway. You can touch it after like an hour but I waited several days to install it. Preparation is the key- you must scrub it well with soap and a scotchbtite pad. I found that the SEM actually filled a lot of hairline cracks and imperfections. I should have spent more time with some Cool Ice, which is a 2 part flexible putty used on bumpers to smooth the whole thing up but this is a fishing car. For the spokes I used some Krylon Krinkle paint. Durability is great, this was done last summer. I planned on useing one of those sew-up covers but so far it's not needing it.
