How did you attatch the fleece to the back of the fiberglass on the door pods?

Fabric glue, a lot of it, then when it dried a little resin.

Re: Cutlass on a budget build thread

Thanks. I just made some molds earlier today and should have fleece on tomorrow.

Sweet man. One thing I can say is take your time. I was so excited to see how they would look and sound, and I wished I spent longer filling and sanding. Let me know how they turn out

Nice Car. I'm also on a budget but I think things are starting to look up. It sucks that my parents wont pitch in to help but I guess that's how the cookie crumbles.

Nice work, nothing like boxes form Summit or Jegs. I just ordered all of the stuff to build my 700R4 from Sumit today. If I get down that way in the near future I'll have to stop and see that car.

Yeah, my dad did with tiny things at first, but now I am on my own. I guess it is a good thing because it has taught me that if the money isn't there, I'm not getting it haha.

Re: Cutlass on a budget build thread

My Exhaust finally got done this weekend, and man does it sound good. The cool thing is you guys get to see the finished product in a matter of minutes, but it took my dad and I 6 hours to be able to hear and see the finished project. Anyways, sorry for not taking any pictures during the progress, its hard to take pictures and work. We basically cut the exhaust at one of the existing bends of the Jeg's kit and then made up some new hangers and added stainless steel band clamps to hold on the 2.5" slash cut tips. Also finished it off with Jegs two chambered mufflers (pretty much Flowmaster Super 40's).

And the best part, the way it sounds...

Yeah man go for it. The run to the sun car show next march would be a blast

Re: Cutlass on a budget build thread

After discovering a leaking booster on the left side of my carb, a few weeks ago i decided instead of rebuilding the 500 CFM, I would just get a nice new shiny piece.

This is what is on the way.

I decided to go with the 750 unit, because I would have more room for more engine work later on. Hopefully it shouldn't over fuel the motor, then again, some 305's came with 750 Q-Jets. You can only adjust a 600 so far, and you can't make it flow more air.

Re: Cutlass on a budget build thread

New carb got installed Wednesday night. Man what a difference. No more stalling out at idle, no more dumping raw fuel, gets out of the hole better and actually has some passing power now. 8) Also painted up my air cleaner to give it a different look. I thought the pinstripe I was using was like a masking tape, turns out it is pinstriping tape. Did the center with plastidip. I got a really cool look on accident, eventually I will do the valve covers with a similar design.
