I had two rims and tires from my 78 Chevy half ton. I'd been moving them from one side of the yard, to the shed, to the other side of yard, etc, until I decided to just get rid of the. I put them up for $5 for the pair. I live in a town not even 5min from the city, and still had people asking if I could deliver.

Reading these is entertaining . I've bought/sold a lot on CL and FB, most things are hit on the head from both sellers and buyers already here.

Buyers:
Asking for a lower price because the person had to drive x distance or time.
People wanting to meet halfway or deliver when it's a $5 or $10 item

The driving to deliver something hits home.

Them- "You are 2 hours away, will you drive to me for the $40 item?"
Me- "No, not worth my time"
Them-"OK, how about I give you $20 extra for gas"

The other thing is the "I have to ask my significant other"

Situation recently, had a set of rough but round and OK C5 vette wheels for $100. Had a guy come over and test fit them on his S10. Spent an hour at my place with my help to bolt them all on and make sure they fit. He took a picture sent to his wife to ask if he could buy them, took them off and left. Thankfully sold them a week later for $120 to another guy in a rusty S10, lol.

The "trade game" is another one buyers try
"Will trade 5 empty propane tanks for your jeep"-No.
"will trade a crossbow"-No
"Will you take payments"-Yes, 1 payment of the asking price

Just had an interested buyer flake on me. Was supposed to pick up the car before the weekend. It's now Tuesday and I haven't heard from him

At least I didn't take any time off work this time.

Yes, yes, yes. I did fib a bit about the 454. Its fine. But: I'm still paying on it so its still at the shop, and buyers keep asking about it. I just tell them it was trashed. Im selling it as a roller. That id made very clear in the ad and in every conversation I've had about it with the 10+ people that have backed out.
