It's all good; that's why I documented the Series II swap on here. It seems like there were a few here that were acquiring parts to do it... I wonder if I scared anyone off. 😀I will apologize for my spelling and grammar. I am a mechanic not a teacher. I am glad there is some interest in what I am doing. If there is something you want to know more about or why I am choosing to do things the way I have. Just ask and I can go more in depth on it. The reason I am putting this out there is for you guy's. I know there are a few people that have done the things I am doing, but not much information or pictures of it being done. I hope others get something out of it, or it is pointless to post it.
Yep it is. The turbo 87 cars have a single electric fan. I may replace the fan on the intercooler later with a electric fan. How come you are not out cruising the pig? That is a strange little setup with the mechanical fan on the intercooler and electric on the radiator. I guess I never noticed before.
Been a long weekend with the folks, and drove 200 miles back today. I took it over my buddy's this evening, though. It returns to commuter duty tomorrow at 5:30a.Yep it is. I will not argue with a multiple point injection is better than a TBI. I have not bought any injection or controller stuff yet besides the intake. So now is the time to figure out what will work best! My reasoning for the TBI is: I am new to the tuning and forced induction. So I want to keep it as simple as possible for me, and not spend a lot of money doing it. I have a lot of learning to do and I figured the Tbi would be a baby step for me. I am not after high horsepower. Good cruiser that will rock when wanted. I am open to all ideas right now so I am all ears.So I skipped some pages, but you are going with a fitech/sniper throttle body fuel injection setup? That setup won't be sequential (sfi) and not have near the tuneability of a individual port fuel injection setup. Have a friend with a fitech on a SBC and although it starts better, it lacked the tables a true SFI setup like megasquirt MS3 and was really tough to dial in. Maybe the holley setup allows more tune ability, but the self learning is great for a 350hp mild SBC but with boost I would really want speed density and full control.
Granted you need to drill and weld in fuel injector bungs, but the advance in tuning is worth it.
