The temp sending unit in an Olds is located in the front drivers side of the intake and has a green wire ( and/or a green wire with white stripe ).

Ok, so the wires look ok, so I grounded the Plug and the gauge did move,
So I changed the sensor, and still nothing, idk what to do now,
Oo and there's a plug right next to it that looks ruff, ima post a picture of the other
One later. Could it be the wrong sensor?

ok, as i said, i replaced the sensor on the left, which is the one i grounded the the plug on and made the gauge move.
but still get no reading on the car temp with the new replacement, im thinking it might be the wrong sensor?
also can someone please tell me what is the one to the right? sems like another sensor but the harness and part look pretty beat.

temp sensor has one wire...with 2 wires it'd be a thermal switch

so why is it that when i pulled the plug on the one on the left and grounded one side of the plug made the gauge move all the way up, and the other side made the overheat light come on? that was all on the one to the left.
the one on the right i cant figure out what it is, its prey bad looking.
