I though you said one wire grounded the gauge would move and the other wire the light would come on if grounded..

yea, thats exactly what happens, and both wires are on one plug for one sensor, its crazy.. :shock:

so if you plug it in and start then engine does the temp gauge indicate the temp?

no, i bought the sensor and get no reading.

if you get readings grounding the wire the gauge and wire are ok...it's the sensor that is the problem...

Also, the wires Were both originally green before I adapted the new plug.

it shouldn't matter the way you wired it...I think there is a problem with that sending unit

I learnt something new in this thread. I never knew that both an idiot lite and a gauge came as factory installed.
