Needed a new air cleaner so I got the breathable lid in chrome and black element. The filter is a 14" x 3". It touches the distributer p plug wires so I got a 1/2 inch filter "lifter" so it won't rub anymore.

liberated an 8.8 with 3.08 posi from an 86 mustang gt at the pick n pull today. and used my 20% frequent hoarder discount. bonus!

Ordered some o ring style AN cooler fittings for the 80E today, along with some bellhousing dowels. The banjo cooler fittings look cool, but I feel there will be sealing issues since they use a crush washer. Not to mention there isn't much clearance to the case which will be a PITA under the car with AN wrenches...

Over 4 years ago one of my high school peers thought itd be a good idea to sit on my car as I was trying to leave. I goosed it, he freaked out, grabbed my antenna and ripped it off. Installed an aftermarket power antenna that never worked so I bought a used one from a GN that I'm gonna rebuild. My mast was damaged and no one makes the f*cking mast so I needed a whole new antenna.
So... I bought a used power antenna.

Installed an aftermarket power antenna that never worked so I bought a used one from a GN that I'm gonna rebuild. My mast was damaged and no one makes the f*cking mast so I needed a whole new antenna.
So... I bought a used power antenna.

GM used to make the mast/tube assembly. But when/if you find one, they're pricey AF. Stick it on your motor and transfer the bracket (or buy a new one) and boom, you're back in business.

If you're going to tear into it, you can reference this material below to help guide you in reassembly (you can use small screws/nuts instead of rivets to bolt the casing back together once you drill out the "eyelets" (the new fasteners used to come in the casing kits). I'd probably get stainless ones with little lock washers to ensure they don't come out and don't rust.

thanks, and yeah. I could buy two good shape used antennas for the price of what i've seen some of the tube/mast combos go for. stupidly expensive.

$209.00 on fleabay, and you can have your very own. There was another on there for 150, claiming to be NOS, but someone had obviously welded a bracket on it that doesn't seem compatible with G-bodies. It's no longer stock.

Oh, and maybe consider the steel cable version from places like Mike's Montes. Sure, another 50 bucks-ish, but no more broken nylon cables....
