went junk yarding today. i've been looking off and on for a 4l60e for my "someday" ls swap. i originally was going t56 for my tribute car. tribute car is of a 79 cutlass calais similar to what i built when i was dating my wife. several years ago i picked up an L33, 5.3l h.o. eng, have purchased the holley stuff, got the posi rear and bigger brakes. but then my wife suggested an automatic for the trans. now i know what your thinking, typical woman. not this this woman, she grew up driving manuals, and is the one who got me interested in them. but for this car she wants an auto. yes dear.
fast forward to last night, checking the inventory of some u-pull yards, found a fresh '05 3500 van. so i swung in this morning and nabbed a 4l80e trans. also grabbed the ecm, w/p and fan, alt and p/s pump. while i was taking a break and admiring my find, i realized the torque converter sat fairly deep in the bell housing. that got me wondering, so looked at the flywheel and discovered i needed it and the spacer to make it all work. so i grabbed them and the the starter too.
is there anything else i should grab?
