oh, back on the subject of this thread....I think I figured out the buzzing in my speakers that happens only when the car is started, I think my msd box is causing it.

I believe MSD sells a capacitor that may filter out the noise your experiencing in your speaker circuit.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-8830/

If you read the instructions that are linked to from that page, they include basic information on how the
MSD box may generate noise in your speaker circuits.

You may know all this but I thought I'd try to help if you didn't.

Also, since that capacitor is quite expensive, you may be able to research online its actual rating and purchase one cheaper somewhere else.

So, I tried instaling my new trans lines (from Inline Tube), and came to the conclusion these are just something else I SHOULD have installed before putting the motor and transmission in...now what to do:
1) drain the new break-in oil (should have waited to put the oil in till later anyway), drop the filter, drop the passenger header, and install trans lines, or
2) Plug the ports on the transmission and radiator, and when I am ready to break the motor in, run it like it should be, then go ahead and change the break in oil, drop the filter and header. Then install the transmission lines. Car will not be moved while engine is broke in. Any foreseeable problems in doing this?

I figure what I will do is bite the bullet, drain the break in oil (in a sterile container, for reuse), drop the filter, unbolt the header and install the lines before I break the motor in.

I will know next time.....along with the dipstick installation BEFORE putting the new motor in....still have to do that, and try the "freezer" trick with that.

You don't need to drain all the oil just to drop the filter...

Actually drove mine half of the day after topping off the trans because yeaterday I finished repairing the damage I got from flinging a drive shaft at 70 mph 2.5 months ago.......new drive shaft, trans pan, installed the proper speedo gears, new tail housing, and yoke straps.....after driving I might need to replace the yoke also.......a slight vibration still there........

Cut my stock 350 crossmember , cut my templets for my dual modified crossmember, took to my exhuast guy to weld for me and he did a awesome job, got my electric cut outs and i can wait!! This costed me $22 bucks to do... Hurayyyyy :friday: :wax:

Me and my cousin dropped the gas tank and replaced the fuel pump. We both thought it was gonna be hard but ended up a 30 min job. The old fuel pump was about 75%clogged and the strainer was floating around in the tank.

practised stops and starts today and gave my left leg a workout with the clutch pedal for about 20 miles on the highway in a traffic jamb caused by them shutting down 2 out of 3 lanes.. :wtf:

I just measured the tailgate for picking up a new water heater. Doesn't look good.
