I pulled the right side spindal out, both a arms, installed poly bushings, new upper and lower balljoints, and my 5660 coil spring. Painted everything black . Not the worse job but by far not the funnest. Also got to work on my hood a bit more should be complete tomorrow. My 200 r4 rebuild will be complete tomorrow and i can pick up the transmission and install it. less the drive gear (wont have till monday) Then once i can move it out and turn it around i can pull the left side apart and do that all up. ! 🙂

Well I picked up my cowl hood for my malibu today..at the charolette cars how. Going home tomorrow and putting it on...350 for hood what a deal brand new

got my front F41 bar in and the new overflow tank. then i got to drive it for a little while while it was raining which sucks cuz i scared my self and put it away hahaha. the F41 bars are a night and day difference compared to my stock front bar and no rear bar. I can't wait to be able to order my new shocks and springs!!!

That looks awesome! Which wheel is it and where can you get the rocket center? I'd love to put that on mine!
The wheel is the 729 F/X,retails for $182...nice thick rim and contoured. The polished center version is the 737 F/X($200.00),and they sell another like it polished at Autozone for $99.99,its the 727 F/X. The center cap is Grant part # 5654,and I bought mine from Sumit on Ebay for $21.00 shipped. The auction is still up,I got it in 2 days. Just do a search for "Grant 5654" and you'll find it. I'm thinking about getting the polished install kit now, maybe even buying the polished 727 at Autozone, the black install kit just looks boring,I like shiny stuff........ 😀

Which install kit did you use? I saw 3 different options and want to make sure i get the right one.
It is the 3196 for the plain (they sell them at Autozone $20),5196 for polished or black polished.
Thanks! I just ordered everything, so I know what next weekends project will be. I got the Grant 714 wheel. Its the 3 spoke 14" satin with the mahogany grip and the black adapter kit. I found the last one of each on Amazon for about $15 less than they were on Ebay. I got the rocket center cap off Ebay from Summit - same price. I should have everything by Wednesday ready to put in.

Thanks for the help!
No problem, your wheel looks really good,also....the polished version of that one is the one they sell at Autozone, and i'm thinking of getting it. It's pretty straightforward, but i've never had a Grant wheel on a car and the horn worked, until now. The directions contradict themselves....there's 2 sets of directions....lol Make sure you take before and after pics and post them up here!

Got it out of the garage for the first time since November. I washed it good and went on a cruise. After driving a Cavalier for the winter I almost forgot how fun this thing is to drive.

Hmmm....i've seen a '78 Monte with the swaybar on the rear, would that mean it has the F41 suspension? What else was included in the F41 package besides stiffer springs and bigger swaybars, anything?

Put my interior back in. Cleaned the carpet last weekend.

Spent several hours wandering the Portland Swap Meet yesterday, mainly looking for a better steering wheel. No such luck. We estimated that we traveled 12-15 miles on foot. Stopped at PickNPull on the way home and got a replacement for my bent passenger side axle.

I put my old tired red top in the GP, my Kinetic battery does not want to take a charge, took the coil wire off to build up oil pressure and then fired her up. Parking brake released and it went into 1st and reverse and the hydraulic thro out bearing didn't make any noise like it did in previous years so that was nice. The choke worked and kicked off when it was supposed to so Mark's help on that last summer was appreciated once again today. I forgot how nice that engine sounds with the ZZ4 roller cam...life is good.. 😀

i fooled around with my transmission to get the lock up working and I think I figured it out. and found out that i needed a new alternator 3 parts stores later and about 2 hours i found one
