What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

I meant tuning.. I have the Fast EZ EFI TBI setup. It runs great, starts everytime, idles smooth. I just have an issue with it backfiring out exhaust on aggressive deceleration.
Have the EZ EFI 2.0 and I get one it for a long, high rpm run, it crackles on deceleration. Like the new Jaguar, not a backfire though. I think it's the last bits of fuel ignited by the red hot headers and exhaust, as it will not do it under any other condition. Bad *ss system......

If it was just a rumble and (Clearing the baffles) It would not bother me much. Mine occurs only on aggressive decel like at the end of a hard pull, where I take foot off throttle, down shift into 2nd and let it roll out.

What I have is:
1.)Lift throttle no backfiring,
2.)Downshift, starts to just rumble,
3.)Then about 10-15secs into Decel Bang Bang loud backfire with actual flames out both my side pipes
4.) Back to normal sounds.

I was thinking the same thing that excess fuel buildup since plates are fully closed and injectors will still be at full flow for some finite amout of time and the IAC is not active in that range.

I was thinking of trying to set the "secondary" plates slightly open so It can still have minimal air flow through TB. I had my Holley set up in this matter to aide idle, but thinking that since I never had this backfire issue with carb maybe that is why, since all else is the same except the EFI TBI and my Carb was always rich across the full range.

I absolutely love the system though.

New tires came in, and I put stock wheels back on my Grand Am.

That is different than what I experience. I noticed your on the CPG ?FAST board also. AA is very helpful, some other are knuckleheads. I you try the throttle blade trick, I think you may corrupt that fuel table, if it works. Then all you would have to do is reset the system and start over from the wizard.

Yep AA is very good. I've been working w/ Brian

I was thinking only thing it would affect is IAC and would need to reset idle and TPS calibration. At this point I'm grasping at straws(ideas) for a solution. Idle is steady smooth, cruise is amazing, throttle response and power pull to 6000RPM is a blast. Best all around running it has ever been.

Your probably right since it WOT. Really have nothing to lose.

Was supposed to do my clutch job today but I got a deal on a Hays kit and being such a nice day for a drive I drove 200 miles to pick the kit up. It's a virtually new Hays 51-163 pressure plate and a Hays 55-121 virtually new disk and the throw out bearing. The pressure plate has been balanced to zero by a speed shop because the guy had a slight vibration that turned out to be the wrong pilot bearing was installed. Before the mechanic admitted to having put in the wrong bearing the mechanic talked the guy into a more expensive clutch kit so he had this one sitting around. I picked up the kit for $200...🙂

Installed a reman power steering pump and headed out for a drive. 40 mins. Later, the front seal exploded and made a huge mess all over the place. What a mess!!!!!!!!!!!
Never saw this happen before.
