fixed an annoying very minor power steering leak. The AN fitting wouldn't seal so I took it all apart and added a little thread goop. It would only leave a little drop or two when I parked the car but leaks bother me no matter how minor.

It was a really nice day so t-tops came off and gas went in. I took a nice drive on some old two lane roads and then hopped on the highway for the drive back. I noticed that with the duel snorkel air cleaner i just put on the other day feeds the carb more air than the 3" open air cleaner I was using before. At idle the two systems are the same but driving with the new air cleaner with a 2" filter the air/fuel mixture is leaner.
where did you get it? Im looking to go that route as well, was it costly? looks great by the way

'81-'88 2-door hoods are extremely rare. The '78-'80 hood is a little more common, though still hard to find.
They should go for around $200-$250, and make sure you get the hinges.
To give you an idea of how hard I had to look, I drove 250 miles to Iowa to get one, and I drove 350 miles to Milwaukee to get the other...
I'll have one to sell in the near future when I'm done using it as a shelf for my wagon headliner. 8)

I started working on my dual snorkel air cleaner. However I am now on the hunt to find a replacement for the factory flexible ducting. The one on my car is in decent shape but the one from the donor is pretty beat up. In my notebook I have Motormite Intake hose PN# 96056 as a replacement but unable to find stock at a decent price.
