What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

Sat on a milk case in my driveway and scrubbed my driver's side inner fender for 2-1/2 hours. My back hurts again but it feels good to have accomplished something.

Oh, the labor of love we put into these damn cars Jared lol! I keep looking at parts that need attention, just too wore out from work and family to get the gumption to attack them.

Sorry, quote the wrong post but same question.

Does anyone have a pic of a cowl hood from the driver's vantage point?

And, I bet "you" are stoked to get this on . . .
I don't have a pic but I have a 2" it's not bad for me but my wife she is 5 foot even she hates it

Seriously? What the hell was on there that took that long to scrub? Were you using a q-tip? 😀

Mostly I was using a red scotchbright. On the bottom side I was scrubbing off red overspray, high build primer overspray, and my favorite, clear overspray over dirt. On the top, it was mostly dirt and some grease but there was a huge glob of the sealer that was used to seal the diesel-specific firewall sound deadener to the firewall. There are lots of nooks and crannies and I want all of it to be clean, so you could say I was working on it with a Q-tip.

Today I found out the driver's door is heavy and should involve two people to remove. No damage done except to raise my heart rate in to redline.

RE: Door Helper..I did not know that exists.
I was actually working on making a wood cradle to lift the door into place. I have much more scrap wood, time and idea than I have cash.
Door weight rating: 89 GM pick up - featherweight, hinge pins will wear evnetually, of course it had manual windows and barely any safety steel construction
..........................: 95 VW GTI - kinda heavy, eats hinge pins, manageable due to window frame design allowing carrying, one man job, Door is actually heavy for a compact weighing 2900 lbs
.............................: 86 Monte Carlo - definately heavy, lunches on hinge pins, 2+ people required

I got the crossmember and 4L80 installed. I'm going to install the frame mounts and stab the long-block tomorrow.
