Took the wife out for a ride and lunch in Wickenburg AZ.View attachment 76948

I didn't even know Wickenburg had a gas station. The last time I was through there was in 1987 taking "the back way" down 89A to Phoenix. Looks like things have changed a little.

It's actually a Jeep Tour place made to look like an old gas station.

I spent some time at my brother n laws the other night making room for the Cutlass after it's painted. My dad's jeep chassis was rolled outside and covered up since it's painted and done. Now just a waiting game for the paintshop to call!!!

Ordered the very last of the parts I needed for my car, shocks, springs, trans cooler lines, shift kit, and engine break in oil. Gonna need to build up some more dough to finish the 8.5 swap, and buy a decent TC, and track down some '87 T Type wheels (again, when I get some cash), and then that'll complete the drivetrain.

This is about as clean as the Empire of Dirt gets.

I cannot remember having that much shelf space... also hung up my autographed Don Garlits poster from Power Tour 2012.

I almost blew my brains out trying to get the cooler lines on the trans. Crossmember comes out tomorrow

Did you have the E-clips installed in the fittings before you tried to snap them in? Because trying to fit the clips in the car is near impossible.

Even worse and more embarrassing:AN fittings already installed in the trans. I removed the test loop with 45s, and couldn't get the new line started.

I took a drive to watch my grandson's hockey game and on the way there I smelt something burning and thought it must be a car or truck in front of me. The arena is about 12 miles past the road my son's house is on. About 1/2 mile before I my son't road I head a little bang and my volt gauge went to 12 and power steering went. I always have a spare serpentine belt in the trunk but when I opened the hood i realized it was the belt that was burning, the tension pulley was seized. I let the car cool a bit and drove the GP to my son's place where I have my spare parts, by the time I got there the temperature was just creeping past 230° on the GP so that wasn't bad having no water pump. I jumped in the Jeep to catch the game and then returned to install the spare tensioner and belt. I was lucky it happened when it did so I didn't need a tow and it's a quick 10 minute fix. Now I have to replace those spare parts for the next time...🙂
