Went to salvage yard Saturday, 0 G bodies, a few 90-02 Fbodies. Picked up 97 T/A rear springs and isolators, Grey 3spoke Jeep steering wheel, and 92 Cherokee steering shaft. Put T/A springs and isolators in last night, same height as stock (27-3/4" at wheelwell center w/ 245/45-17 tires), removed and cut 1.2 coils off tonight, dropped 1-1/2" from stock (26-1/4"), just right! Have a neighbor/friend who bought a 99 Vette a few weeks ago. Another neighbor gave him some new slotted Front rotors and Hawk pads, I got his SLIGHTLY used original style pads and rotors for the remarkable price of $0 !!!!

Just got finished measuring for pushrods. I had a stock LS pushrod, and a Comp pushrod length checker Jared let me borrow to compare to. No light in the shed, so had to use my LED headlamp and a flashlight lol! I checked several cylinders both intake and exhaust to be safe. Hoping to order some tomorrow so I can get this valvetrain buttoned up.

would anybody be greatly put out if I broke this thread up by year, and started a new one for 2018? I mean, the thing is over 750 pages long.....
Maybe let it get to 1000? 😛

Been takin' a break from working on the car, and digesting leftovers. My dad wanted to help, so he patched up the heater box. He drilled a hole in the heater core by accident, so that had to be replaced. Ah well. It was 30 years old anyway. Engine should be in and hopefully running by this weekend. Probably gonna skip the shift kit, and install it when I get more money together to toss on some wheels and tires and refresh my 8.5 and get a new driveshaft. I had to take the top of the heater box off of course, so I vacuumed out all the leaves, installed aforementioned new heater core, scraped off the old sealant, gooped on some RTV and put it back together. With no leftover screws! Patch panel looks pretty good, better than having a giant hole. Once it's painted and hidden by the red engine it'll be hardly noticeable.
