Yes it was, grinder got away from me afew times so the notch is less that desirable! But it was pretty easy.

I actually did mine by hand filing. Turned the steering column to one side and used a rat tail file. It doesn't take much filing to achieve a small notch.
finally got around to installing new springs and shocks at all 4 corners with 2 new front tires. Gave it some new plugs while I was there. finally out of hibernation and hitting the road tomorrow.

Lol, didn’t think of that, but still got the job done.
A couple weeks ago I went to fix the parking brake cables on the car i bought a month ago. I could tell just from looking under the car the cables had been cut when the 8.5 rear end had been swapped in by the previous owner.
Well i proceed to pull the drums off and see there is no parking brake lever behind the self adjuster either and that the wheel cylinders are shot. Once the disintegrating shoes and rusty springs are removed I attempt to remove the wheel cylinders. The drivers side puts up a fight and i end up damaging the backing plate in removing it. The passenger side doesn't even have a retaining ring. I also break the line off at the fitting on the driver side wheel cylinder.
Last night i get the driver side axle removed, getting the C clip out through the lunch box locker was fun. Go to remove the bottom bolts on the backing plate and snap one of the bolts off below the surface in the end of the axle. So that is next obsticle i have to deal with. But when its all said and done i should have brand new rear brakes from the lines out and a functional parking brake.
The joys of working on a car 17 years older than you. Also i have never had a job where just about everything that could go wrong did... But hey its not over yet, still have to get the passenger side disassembled.

You got it done...that's the main thing.
Pulled the Regal out and went for a rip around the block before I pull the motor out. Quickly remembered that I only had the front wheel lugs hand tight and went home. Lol.
Still nice to be out for a drive before the real work begins.
