I got the new pushrods in and they are the correct length so I adjusted my valves just to the zero lash. I wasn't sure about what preload I need so I will finish it tomorrow. Before I worked on the GP I cut 6 miles of grass at my son's place in the 90 degree weather and then went for a dip in the pool....my son's dogs refused to come outside and stayed in the air conditioned house....🙂
New brakes for the Camino. It has almost 140k miles on it and my guess is that the brakes have only been changed once before this because you had to floor or the brake pedal to make it stop.
Old rotors were warped to hell. Can't really tell by the pic but they were bad
Back side of old pads
Front side of old pads
New pads
New rotors
New drums
Quick paint job to slow the rust
I had my mechanic put them on so no final pic but the car stops on a dime
Test fit the MOOG 5664s with the 2" drop spindles in the wagon - car came in at ~26" to the fender lip. Too high.
Then I installed the ProForged tall upper and lower ball joints - I should get the much needed 1/2" drop there.
I also added steering limiters - basically a section of 3/8" rod welded to the stock bracket on the LCAs. I had to do this on my Buick too, it helps keep the tires from rubbing on the fender liners at full lock.
I swapped out the regular Energy Suspension 3.1108G trans mount for the shorter 3.1158G mount just to see the effect on the down pipes. With no body I have a 5 deg tilt on the engine/trans & gave a hair more pipe clearance.
I resoldered some wires in my Rally computer module for the 2+2 that were shorting and blowing a fuse. We have a button that simultaneously stops a master clock and an old Garmin III GPS at the same time, but it was blowing a fuse when you push the button. All fixed now and it can go back into the car.
Only about 1 month away to our next race in Nebraska.
Didn't do anything to the Cutlass, but something for the Cutlass. I'm finishing up a temporary storage solution so I can bring the ole girl home! So with a healthy dose of backyard ingenuity lol, some tarps, paracord, zip ties and bungies it's looking decent! I still need a "door", and an anchor system, but for around $100 invested I'm pretty happy!!!!

replacing brakes aren't that difficult and you only need some basic tools, this forum could help you out so you'd save money and you'd make sure it's done right...🙂
