What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

FINALLY. Today I earned the right to make an entry after a long time spent keeping up with, well, life.

I removed a sweep cluster from my 1980 Malibu. I will write up a post to make this useful for others. Note that this is an OEM manual car, so it has the shift quadrant blockoff plate. I will eventually make a pattern so others can make a retrofit part.

I like the latest Forum software. I find that the uploading and editing is simpler than it used to be. Thanks, Chris!

A cut piece a black electrical tape works great for blocking out the PNRD21.

I used a piece for years on my first Malibu. No one ever noticed it was tape.

Finishing up moving today, and was able to get the LS to the new place. My theory of leap frogging pieces of 4x8 plywood worked great, and now the engine is nestled into the garage until I can make time to drop it in. But first, a cool pic...

Got everything back together a few hours ago. Started it, let it get up to temp, let it cool down. Check for leaks, triple check everything is snugged up, started again, up to temp, and back down again. Checked tightness again. No leaks as of right now. I'll be watching that thing with a death glare the next few days...

I pushed my Whaler to the back of the yard and blocked it up for a long winter's sleep. Then I scrounged around in my garage for a horn. My wagon's horn sounds like a sick cow now that it's cold out. Found a good one and replaced the sick one. Nice and loud now. it's not easy to find a decently loud GM horn anymore. I hate the beep-beepy ones that sound like a Honda.
