Scraped (almost) the last of the 35 year old rear window tint adhesive out of the 2+2. Previous owner brought the car up from texas when it had limo tint in the back and had removed most of the tint film but left the adhesive since the small town MN police dept they lived in hassled them all the time back in the mid 90's that the tint was above state limits. Don't get me on that rant......

I scraped 80% of the adhesive off 2 years ago and had enough and gave up. What a terrible job!!! Last time i used ammonia and i could get about 2X2" area cleaned before I almost passed out. Ended up doing it without the ammonia this time and put a box cutter blade in a 2 needle nose vice grips and was able to bend the blade roughly to the shape of the window. Rest of it was my hand pushing the blade bit by bit.

Cameo by- ME!

Got my new 3:73's installed. Drove it around for a few heat cycles.....drove home, put in shop to sleep. Drove it to work, passed a yahoo on the highway along the way home. Slowed down to turn onto my road, notice a whine at low speed coming from the rear end.....put back in shop and said F-it.....i'll deal with it another day!!!

It is a brand new gear set, but not sure what it was set to as i had a reputable gear guy at a local performance shop install them. I spoke with him and he was puzzled as he installed to whatever spec was but said to bring it back in and he will look after it. i'll keep you posted. Might get it in there tomorrow. If not it will have to wait a couple weeks 😢

Alternator bolt decided to break and I ended up sucker punching myself with my ratchet and loosing my 15mm socket. 's fixed now tho.

Addendum:
I have a 231 style alternator bracket, it was the "set" bolt at the top that broke. Went to tighten it (as well as pull up on it, gently but firmly), bolt snapped and I punched myself with my ratchet in the jaw. 15mm went flying. Dad came up with a spare bolt and some nuts. Rigged it up to get it home, on the way home the piece of bolt actually walked it's way out of the alternator enough to where i could get it out with my fingers. Some rooting around in the garage later, new bolt that isn't 34 years old.
