I wish I could say that brake work has gone well...

I replaced the passenger side brake hose and stole another caliper off of the El Camino as it was still sticking. I got everything together and bled, and the passenger side worked well. Unfortunately the drivers side decided to stick hard on the test drive.

The brake pad in the picture started out as black, and when I took the tire off the lugnuts were smoking.

Guess the El Camino is going to be giving up the other front caliper as well.

Dude, you know exposed slider pins never end well....

cleaned up the wring for the alternator cause it didn't seem to be charging like it should... put the alternator back in and the CS144 is now putting out over 14v at 700 rpm idle. Started putting the interior trim back in and had to move the GP to reposition it and sure felt great just moving it a few feet....

I'm in the middle of replacing body mount bushings. On one hand I'm thinking what the hell did I get myself into and on the other it's not as bad as I thought and it needed to be done. I'm hoping to get it back together this weekend to take it for a spin.

I ran into the passenger side #4 bolt not even being there, #2 passenger snapping immediately, 6 & 7 passenger & 6 driver having to cut access holes to stop the nuts from spinning.

I need to find somewhere local to get a tool to remove the broken bolts from the cage nuts.
Did they break off flush? If not id weld a bolt or nut on to the bolt and spin it out.

There's also an access window on the #2 body mounts in case you wanna saturate it in PB blaster. You'll probably have to take the plastic fender well out to access it on the pass side

Everything seemed good with the way it was set up. I ended up buying a new caliper, and it was set up the same way. Still dragging a little bit though. I may say screw it and let a shop handle it, as the fluid is nasty as hell and I likely need to replace both rotors and pads again to get things right. I am pretty much just over this project.

I love that Buick!
