I must say, you find some pretty cool mural backdrops. It makes car photo ops more interesting.
Apprecaite it, hoping this weekend to get her out and get a bunch of pics but will start a thread of my own for that so I don't bore people in here

Yeah, not your typical street scene. Some cool murals out there.

Yeah there are a ton, been a few that I haven't even been able to get a pic of which I hope to at some point this weekend. I am always on the look out and always have to try and jot down a location I see that has something I think would look cool

I got her Back and She's Alive! Alive! Picked her up after work, It drove decently, not too mention turned heads. A couple of things that surprise me the most is that the brakes for as old as they are don't squeal or make any noise and the brakes stop on a dime. I also found out I can't make any sharp Right turns the Tires are rubbing both left and right on the Wheel Well, This is what I was afraid of with the front end sitting so low. Anyway I drove it to my place of employment to show off what I have been talking about.

While I was pumping the gas there I Iooked under side to see if there were any leaks. I found a couple of Spurts on the ground from the Antifreeze, Stopped home for a few then started it right back up and drove it to my local Advance Auto parts. Not too many problems driving it, though I think that the Cherry Bomb Muffler is scrapping on the road, not even sure why someone would even put this type of muffler on where its sitting toward the middle of the car 🤔, I would find out when I got home again that the Gasket behind the Water pump is flizzing up (Hot) and is bad. I put some Red Gasket Maker over the trouble spot of the Gasket as a temporary measure, I did end up ordering a new Water Pump today along with a new Transmission filter from Rock Auto. While I was at it I replaced the Windshield wipers, put in some Engine Restore and replaced the Headlight Switch.

Here you can see the fabricated Pump to Carb line, New fuel pump installed and new line rerouted up and around to the carb. So far no leaks.

Thankfully the Bezel wasn't that hard to take off. I replaced the Headlight Switch with an AcDelco part, but the headlights are still not coming on, I still have Highbeams as before. Later I would learn I replaced the wrong part :blam:.

This is what I did today, and believe me I am more than excited to have her back home.

Put 91 octane premium in and made it live up to its name, burn out machine at every stop.

First time this year that I have found some time to work on the El Camino. So I drove the 200 miles from my new place to my shop, fixed the daughters Fiat and afterwards installed the Energy Suspension poly bushings in the stock rear arms.
I already knew these things a weak, but heck they're flimsy like overcooked noodles. I'll get aftermarket ones as soon as the car is through inspection and road worthy.

Got a lot of little stuff done today. Little cleaning around the engine bay for any loose dirty and leaves and such.
Reinstalled my battery tray. It’s not great, not terrible. Better than it was. Cleaned up the hold down too.

RockAuto sent shipping confirmation for my alternator too. Removed the old one and took the top and bottom brackets out to clean up and spray paint. Came out good I’d say.

Then I tried out my new tools and used a disc grinder to remove the support piece for the stock radio so that my aftermarket one will sit back farther. I think it looks a lot better this way.

My radiator top plate was cleaned up and is on its first coat of paint right now as well. One step closer to swapping to electric fans. It was a productive day.
