What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2020]

After returning home from the wrecking yard and putting away the mirrors that I picked up, I pulled the passenger seat out (50-50 split bench) to begin the wbody bucket seat install (81cutlass recently did his, and posted a thread about it). After 30 min of going back and forth to the garage to get the correct tools, I had the seat out, then I unboxed the new shopvac and vacuumed the passenger side floor. I then started on the standoffs for the rear of the new seats. Closed up about 830 and went indoors, will be working on finishing tomorrow.

The empty, vacuumed floor.

Hopefully soon, I'll be able to order a new carpet kit. At least I know how easy it is to remove the seats.

Overheating mystery solved. Found my fan controller would only kick on with the A/C, no temperature control whatsoever. I'll have a new one Tuesday, but it is parked until then.

Used some scrap to make an intake pipe. Going to pick up some aluminum and a filter to block it from the heat out. will eventually be remaking this as I’m really not liking this truck intake.

Seems that snails outpace me 2 to 1 lately on getting stuff other than "actual paid work" done around here. I think its been 3 weeks my car has been on jackstands in the driveway waiting for new rubber. Got the new tires installed a week ago, and mounted on Thursday. Today ( sunday ) I started the yearly process ( which I have skipped for 2 years now ) of polishing the aluminum lip. Dremel does not want to co-operate so I am down to a hand polish I guess. Maybe after supper I can enlist the boy to take on half the process as I do not. I thought you were supposed to get more time to get stuff done as your kids got older. Just seems the list gets longer and my stamina gets shorter LOL However the beer is very tasty ..... ( not that that has anything to do with it )

What setup do you have To control the fans?
A Compressor Works adjustable temp controller with a threaded temperature probe. They work ok, but seem to die after about 2 years or so. I am not sure if my fans eventually overload it or it just doesn't like being under the hood. On the bright side, the A/C input will still force the fans on so it didn't strand me an hour from home like it could have.

Made some boost!
