Excised the stock exhaust system from under the car, and finally got my G-Force crossmember installed. ( I got it almost two years ago...)
Fit amazingly well, and even have floorboard clearance with the OEM body bushings still in place. 👍
Removed the original converter hanger off the trans mount to make some room for thee new pipe.
Started mock up of the replacement exhaust, had to order band clamps as no one local carries them.
Have an alignment issue with the existing head pipe from the manifold to the mid pipe.
I need to turn it about 15-20 degrees, but the flange bolts have been in there 42 years and I reaaaaly don't want to touch them.
I may cut the vertical section, rotate the elbow and weld it back together. this goes here.jpg

I had to make a new patch for the quarter panel. I didn't like how it turned out and I had to cut more of the rust out. I got most of it welded but lousy welds. I didn't have the car high enough and I was looking at it from an angle. I removed the neg bat cable, unplugged the AL6-2 box and removed the Fast computer. After I was finnished for the day I plugged everything back in and the Fast computer saved the settings. I didn't hook up the laptop to check the AL6-2 but the car started so I could move it so it's good for now cause I still have some welding to do....

Drove it around all weekend, did a quick cruise with some buddies yesterday and then took some pics. I'll only post one here so I don't spam it, but made a thread for pics of it here

I just noticed in the picture I posted it looks like the contour of the curve at the bottom of the patch doesn't match the quater panel close to the wheel opening, it must be a shadow cause the contour does match the quarter panel... 🤔

I am prety tough on myself when it comes to fabricating stuff. If it doesn't fit right I'll remake the part til it is right. On the race cars the guys would leave just about all the fabrication to me and even though the cars only had to look good from 20 feet it had to look good to me. I just finished up the welding on the patch and most of the grinding is finished. There was dust on the patch panel making it look like a bad fit.

and for getting to sleep tonite will be no different than any other nite.....

I was giving the Malibu a much needed Interior cleaning with the armor all and vacuum, while looking around under the seats (No coinage found unfortunately) I found something very very interesting and rare at the same time.

At first I didn't even think this thing was in the car and I was in search of a reproduction if possible. I am a smoker and when I found the Ashtray has not even been used I was surprised. Being that the Ashtray has never been used I am going to keep it that way. I am using a cup Ashtray instead. I will be sharing a video on how well this car does run since getting out of the shop. Still awaiting the parts from Rock Auto I ordered IE, Dimmer Switch, Transmission Filter and Water Pump. The Rainy Weather we've had these last couple of days put a damper on me doing the other things like body work I want to get started on.

The Pig goes back to work tomorrow. I'm still working from home, but can finally do site visits again. Minimum 150 round trip with an additional stop. Had to wash the past 3 months of pollen and Oak flowers off it, add a quart of oil, and it's ready to wreak havoc on the DMV highways again! :devilish:

Drove it to tires plus with my dad in his car to get new tires on his Nissan.

Plus engine pic. Dirty, but it's a daily.

Still waiting for my alternator from RockAuto but I didn’t wanna lose out on the great AZ summer weather we got today (the high was only around 90). I ordered new push pins for my front fascia and decided to take it off and clean behind it while it was out as well as install my radiator cross bars.
I wasn’t too happy to find what I did below the fascia when I removed it. Rust on the upper baffle/air deflector/whatever. I wasn’t happy with the overspray on it anyways and planned to spray it black too but didn’t wanna see the rust. Oh well, it cleaned up very well and is drying with it’s second coat of paint + primer right now.

Once that was removed I got to installing the braces. Went in fairly easily.

Also found this disconnected wire below that baffle. It’s tied in with the headlight harness but I don’t know what it’s to or where it goes. It’s black and has a single female spade end inside of a plastic housing. I’m assuming a ground for something but can’t tell. Anyone know where it goes? Thanks in advanced.
