Wanted to get a couple things done quickly since it was so hot which did not work out, got the repeater to get my homelink mirror to work but that didn't seem to work so gave up on that after trying a few different times. Then started to get some of the greasy hand prints off of the car since I had to get a special cleaner to get it to come off of the dip. Tried using just dawn and it did not do the trick, this seems to work pretty well though so I guess I am glad I bought 3 bottles of it

I've been working on my homemade dual snorkel/ cowl induction air cleaner assembly. Just some slight finishing up and have to order a new filter element. For a seal I will probably use a GM trunk seal.

Got my new fan controller wired in and tested, which also gave me the opportunity to straighten up and loom more of the wiring harness. It still looks busier than I would like, but at least there are no power wires rubbing on the intake anymore.

I also picked up a GPS speedometer for those times when I want to go faster than Jimmy Carter intended. It's a shame it took like 6 weeks to get here because of the COVID.

Reinstalled the upper piece behind the nose of the Monte. Looks a lot better.

Went to Ace Hardware and got the u clips, washers and bolts needed to install the fender to core support bars. Drilled pilot holes in the fenders and everything tied together real nice. Very sturdy.

New clips for the nose piece came in from amazon. $13 for 30. Monte nose only needs 16 but extras are always nice to have. Reinstalled the nose. Spraying the air cleaner housing now. I’m going stir crazy waiting for the alternator to come in. The harness adaptor came today though, plugged right in. Now the main piece and I’ll be able to drive her again by the weekend. Hopefully.

I learnded a way to calculate hp/tq in HP tuners, so I plugged in the formulas and went cruising with my kiddos for 20ish minutes at varying speeds. It's soooo nice to hop on the highway now and just roll. Something is telling me the math isn't right though. Pretty sure this 5.3 isn't pushing 467 lb/ft at 3500rpms lol!!!! The HP number seems right at same rpm, but dang that would be a steamroller lol!!!! It does pull hard though when the converter does it's job!

Wondering to myself... what is this secondary air cleaner looking device inside the housing? Anyone have any thoughts on maintenance it might need? I can't find anything in the FSM, which doesn't cover 9C1 versions.

It's obviously an additional filter of sorts. I noticed that on my donor air filter housing which I've never seen before.. The only type of maintenance I can surmise is to clean it or flush it out with a solvent and compressed air.
