Finally removed the dash! After carefully finding all the bolts and freeing up all the wiring I’ve gotten the dash off. Found out this car has a lot more goodies to transfer over to my keeper. Found it has power trunk unlock, has the trunk light, freed up the rear defrost wiring, along with the rear lights that are by the rear doors (up for sale if anybody is interested), now I’m trying to remove the passenger side mirror because this car came with it being able to adjust by the steering wheel. Good day wish I had more daylight to get the under hood light and start working on pulling the motor for a refresh.

Guess these are going to the machine shop. I finally got around to cleaning up the passenger head and, well, it's got a split valve. It's corresponding piston also has evidence of hitting something and there is what looks to be thread imprints on the backside of said valve. Me thinks p/o dropped a ****in screw down the intake at one point. I didn't find one in the engine upon teardown, bore looks fine, etc. #8 is the only piston with the nub showing any witness marks so that's my theory. Off to the machine shop they go. Unfortunately, but also fortunately, this has skewed my plans yet again. I'm not gonna have the heads all done up for an 8:1 engine when it's only a few hundo more to get new higher compression pistons and an better cam than the .439 lift free one I got. I really liked the crower level 3 I used in my old motor (.446/.468 lift, 276/281 duration on a 112), and in that worn out turd it still made 211hp to the wheels with a whack a/f ratio and no timing. I already bought lifters and a timing set, I have new springs to go on the heads after they get cut to use the smaller better seals (going to the shop anyway at this point, f*ck it) so a cam and pistons it is. Kind of sucks. Driver's head turned out perfect. Passenger one, split valve. Shame.

fyi for all 3 of the sbb enthusiasts on here (including me), 3.0/181 buick v6 flat top pistons are $100 bucks a set of 6 (need two sets), or $43 a pop. Cheaper to buy a dozen than 8. In a stock buick 350 they end up at 9.5-10.5:1 compression depending on head gasket and any if any milling has been done.

Edit: For a more conservative 9:1 with some milling of the block/heads, the 1736-STD pistons will do. They have a 1.805 (vs 1.808 for the flat top) compression height and a 12cc dish.
