Thanks for the heads upmount them ahead of the peg on the vac. cannister. Mounting it behind like the directions say preloads the spring. I did mine in front and it limits it to 8* of vacuum advance, got about 42* cruising.

Put that sales brochure in a safe place indoors through the winter, and until you get that new engine installed. She's still sitting, and we are about to get snow (more like Slush) tonight, I was kind of hoping for the stimulus package vote which would excel or put a boost in buying the new engine but as it stands I may have to go with my plan for March of next year which means Winter saving. We'll see I guess.
But anyway I did decide to spend alittle and finally got my package in today. I got a sales brochure for the 81' Malibu check it out. I put it in the car.

I just made some simple brackets out of flat aluminum or steel. I have 4 total (2 holding the fans to the top plate, 2 on bottom at core support.) If need be I'll get pics, just let me know.Cut down and crimped butt connectors to some connectors I found a while back. I installed the heavy duty relay harness for my power windows and need a break in the power and ground wires that go to the battery. There are one of each for each side so I grabbed two of these connectors from an 80s Cadillac engine bay and they’re the perfect size and gauge wiring. I’ll put one on each side behind the dash so I can easily unplug if I need to pull the doors.

I then started test fitting my electric fan setup. These fans are from a Chrysler 300M. I’ll need to make up a bracket for it to mount to the top plate. Cut off the side ears and it fit good other than being short. Any suggestions on how to mount securely are surely welcome.
