Had quite the weekend, took the daily to meet my step mom for some dinner on Saturday could feel the tire was low so after dinner go across the street to add air. After I put the air in I take the chuck off and it rips the valve stem off so no air will now stay in that tire, I'm like 5 miles from the house so I try to drive it a little to see and could tell it was gonna rip the tire off. So......

Sunday morning get a text from my aunt and stepmom to see if I wanna do brunch so I took the Monte since the DD was down, was idling a little high on the way to brunch. Then twice it stalls out and starts right back up after so I get it there, as I am leaving it stalls again and can get it going. Get to the first light and sit for a little its still idling high then as I get into the intersection it stalls out again. Able to get it to fire since when I try to pop the hood to look it won't open so I say eh I will wait until I get it home, does it another 2 times. But the last time it would start up and stall right away, last time I heard a backfire so I called it quits and waited over 2 hours for a second tow. Lesson learned no more plans to go eat with the stepmom

I swapped my air conditioning out and installed a factory heater only system on my 4 door. It cleaned the engine bay up a lot.

Was able to pull one of the heads off today
I got a little aggressive with the tune and leaned her out you can see the rings are busted and there was some detonation going on even with the race gas and one of the pistons has a small hole melted in it
I have two more 305s with 9 1/2 to 1 compression to experiment even further with best et with this engine is 12.89 103 at least now I have a number to shoot for

Got the rebuilt/refreshed tilt column in. Tested everything out and all is well. May not seem like much but I’m very proud of it. This Monte was bare bones as far as options go besides T Tops so it’s been a project in added in all the OEM creature comforts. I don’t wanna have to bring this back out ever again so “do it right and do it once” was the name of the game. Glad it turned out good.

Haven’t really done much other than busy work with a bit of wiring for the fuel pump relay and giving the floor another coat of paint to get where I missed the first time round.
I have however given a video game some actual purpose besides being a time sink. I don’t have the money or the hardware for a render or the software to make one, so I booted up Forza 6 and whipped this up:

The step fade idea for the old Sport Coupe trim might be pretty snazzy after all....

Expensive weekend dinning. The tire should be a fast fix, hope you can find the source of the Monte's ills.

Wasn't that bad since I had AAA, we will see what the issues were. The tire was far from a fast fix, fought me every way possible except finally going back on went smoothly. Appreciate it you and me both, leaning towards 2 options we will see which it is soon hopefully

Yea, for AAA. They are the best. Sister-in-law gifted the wife and I with AAA about 10 yrs ago. Renewed every year since, and have only needed them twice, but well worth the peace of mind, and also the member discounts at participating businesses (hotels, NAPA, etc.).
