my astro shaft collapses and I don't know what pin you are talking about that would prevent the shaft from collapsing. If the shaft does not collapse then I would not be able to get it on or off
I always understood that the 'pin' in the GM collapsible set-ups is plastic/nylon & designed to shear to allow the collapse.

Was tempted to use a micrometer to measure the amount of dust that has accumulated on its cover but lacked the time needed. Took a call in on Monday that ended up being a whole week of work. Helps with the bills and budget but eats into my shop time. Finally have an install time/date for my new shop furnace. The heating company finally unsnarled the mystery of the missing furnaces, mine included, and I have a start time. Will have to finish cleaning out the floor under the overhead location so they have room to work in. Halloween may be just the right night to slip out to the shop and have at 'er. Planning on wrapping the front yard in "CAUTION" and "KEEP OUT" cop tape and blacking out the house anyway as the forecast is for mixed rain/snow and there is no way to make sugar loaded yard apes practice self distancing when their little minds are totally zoned in on SUGARRR!! and CHOCOLATE!!!! Yeah, yeah, I know but it's gotten worse every year and now, due to political correctness and helicopter parents none of them know how so sing. No "Halloween Treats Please!", or "Treat or Treat, Smell my Feet, Gimme Something Good to Eat". Gotta wonder if someone ever decided to gross out some urchin and show up at the door wearing flipflops or in bare feet with their feet coated in water soluble green food dye??

GP, check response #2388 in this thread. In the middle photo, there is a pin or set screw at the end of the lower piece of the steering shaft.

I broke it, I met up with one of my sons today to trade my Gopro Black 7 for his Gopro Black 4. The 4 will work for what I need and the 7 has much more than I need. My son and his wife make videos for their personal training business so they'll be able to use what the 7 has to offer and make better videos with less effort. Anyway I pulled up to a light on a hill and when I pulled away turning right something broke and it didn't sound good. The GP still moved but before possibly causing more damage I called CAA. The driver let me ride back with him on the 40 minute tow back to my other sons place where my Jeep is, or rather was parked...when I got the GP off the flatbed I drove it to it's spot and I don't think what broke is going to be much, maybe just a u-joint but I'll check it out this week...

Luckily my buddy came over Friday night to help me figure out the stalling issue, he was pretty perflexed because even after finding that some of the intake bolts had come loose it was still not running right. He noticed that apparently the mechanic thought he was helping me out by modifying some stuff in the Holley tune, so he changed that back but is still just not running right. It does stay running though which is better than it was doing, allowed me to run her out to a trunk or treat which had some very niced dressed ladies at
