What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2020]

Installed electric fans. It’s been a long time coming! Little by little, piece by piece. I’d like to thank Scott for the advice and photos and above all else the words of wisdom - “keep it simple!”
Did up some simple brackets to help it attach to the top plate. Still need to secure the bottom. Ran a line to my fuse box under the dash for the switched/ignition trigger so that they don’t run when the car is off. Otherwise whatcha see is whatcha get. Very happy with the results and progress. Still need to get a temp sensor to finish it all completely but for now it’s in and has been tested in the garage.

For those looking to do the same: I used a fan from a circa 2001 Chrysler 300M but there are plenty of options. I used the Volvo fan relay setup but triggered with a separate relay so that it won’t run when the car is off. Here’s a little note I made while getting it all squared away. Feel free to ask any questions, I’m happy to help anyone else as much as I can.

Finally got around to correcting the speedometer today. Installed an old Stewart Warner 777 ratio adapter on the speedometer cable.

I was just going to get a different speedometer drive gear but the correct ratio was going to require changing the driven gear as well, so I went the lazy route. The ratio that I found was almost perfect anyway, so I'll call it a win.

I tacked the bracket back to the trans dipstick tube reinstalled with a bit of rtv, hooked up more things, attempted to bleed brakes.

I tried to see if it would crank, no go.

screamed a little

I had no interior lights, only idiot lights, brake lights, and turn signals. nothing else. no cranking either. Found two wires in the starter harness (purple and one of the reds) pulled out of an old connection. Re did those with a far better set of crimpers and it cranks. Alls I need is to add some fuel and it might run again. Still got to clean it out, reinstall the wipers, some trim, the radio, hvac controls, etc for an impending 750 mile round trip to wisconsin to pick up a set of fenders.

Why the **** am I taking the regal you may ask? Out of all the car's available to me, it is by far the most reliable. *knock on wood*. I can't trust my truck will make to the mcdonalds down the street without some kind of issue, the saturn is a POS and isn't in my name (it's my dads), as well as the nissan. So, regal it is. I've driven it 5 hours straight before, I've taken it to nebraska a few times, namely to get my wheels. But that being said I will try to talk someone into going with me as well as bringing tools and a spare tire, jug of water, etc.

I love it, trial by fire. Good luck
