What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2020]

Drove it around town with a buddy. Did some donuts. Watched a very unqualified motorcyclist.
It's ****in loud.

sounds like a dirt car lol

Ran into a clearance issue with the shift lever thing on the trans that rubbed the side of the header and the lil arm that goes from the bracket on the prop valve to the trans that rubbed the top. Put it in a vise and mashed the bend out of it to clear the top of the header, trimmed the little bracket to clear the side of the header. Works better, still need some trimming.

I really like how high up these headers sit. you almost cant see them. Rain put a damper on installing the rest of the exhaust, maybe tomorrow. Work shutdown got extended another week (yay...)
so I have all the time in the world (comparatively) but no money. Gas is cheap tho. Some stations are under a buck fifty for super. Fleet Farm near me has no corn 91 for $2.
Given the already sketchy oil pickup and pressure situation in a Buick, donuts might not be such a good idea...

Got my gas tank drained, now to let it air out for today so I can wire wheel it and the straps tomorrow. Then painting.

they were slow dirt donuts. perfectly circular.
What happened to the "break in" period?
It's been 200 miles so far. oil still looks new, time enough to have a little fun.
He's still a kid bro, he'll maybe catch on one day.
donuts are fun and delicious
Break in? Don't you mean "break it" period?
😀

Tried to crank up the 88 Cutlass today. It ran for a second but stopped. Seems to be a bad filter or maybe need a carb rebuild. Car wont run own it's on juice. So today I removed the air cleaner, and breather. Removed the filter that goes in front of the Quadrajet. Hopefully this solves it and no carb rebuild. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You gotta seat those rings

got a little bit of a late start to it, but I got the driver's side header in. Had to chop some of the motor mount off for it to fit. The header just kisses the driver lower control arm mount might take it back out and smack it. It went in about as well as headers do, have to have the car at least a foot and a half in the air to get the header in. the bolts are barely long enough to do the job. why.

passenger will be done later tomorrow (today), although it's supposed to rain the rest of the week. yay.

I like the fitment overall, however. despite being long tubes (only style available), they sit up reasonably high. I dig em.

Looks like the same as the Hookers I have. What motor?
Got the passenger header on. Tbh the fitment is pretty damn great for them being A Body only headers.

It's loud.
Take note joesregalproject, if you use headers, you'll want a ministarter. You'll need to trim the starter heat shield regardless. Do yourself a favor and trim the front LCA mounts (or take a sledge to your headers) for a lil extra clearance. The driver middle lower bolt is the hardest thing about installing these. But that's always the case with Buicks. At least the header tubes aren't in front of the spark plugs. 🙂

YES I MOVED THE WIRES ON THE HEADER BEFORE STARTING.
