Looked at my Regal today. That counts as doing something.

In addition to futzing around with wiring and wiping some disgusting sh*t off the interior plastics with baby wipes I opened my box of supplies from Eastwood.

Got part numbers for stuff used? Or just general parts store stuff?

It’s mostly AC delco parts and I believe almost all of it came from rock auto. I think a couple four seasons parts too. I just looked up 86 Monte. I also used the seal kit that everyone sells. I’m still torn on if it was worth the money or not. I’ll admit it did save some time over finding/making it.

FINALLY completed the rear brakes and got the Monte back on the ground. New hardware and shoes, turned aluminum drums, bled the brakes and I was off. I took her around the block a couple times. Most of the interior is out so she shook, rattled, and rolled the whole time. Arizona sunshine has not been nice to the interior so its in process of being replaced/repaired. Next up is rebuilding front end as its sloppy and clunks. Upper control arm bushings are shot. Tie rods are all tired. Got most of the stuff for the Blazer brake upgrade too, just gotta get Russell brake lines and I should be good. Its going to be a long summer.

So obviously this wasn't all today. Back in September I got the body off the frame, then began trying to clean up the frame for paint. the frame was caked in a mixture of 80's undercoating, oil and plenty of road grime. Started with a wire cup on my buddy's giant Makita grinder, wire wheel on a die grinder and brushes but was taking forever and not coming out very well. Decided that I would just clear away enough to box the frame and repair the one rotted body mount then go at it with the sand blasting attachment that goes on a pressure washer. Got all the necessary welding done so started trying to sand blast the frame; nothing but trouble! The damned thing kept clogging up and it took me 8 50lb bags of sand to get 2/3 of the thing blasted, garbage! So I called up a professional sand blaster that is about 20 minutes away; $400 to have it blasted and shot with epoxy primer. Done deal! Not long after I got the frame back, work got busy again so I had no time to get much done and the temps started dropping. Finally a couple weeks back I got the frame moved to our garage so I could get it painted in a heated garage. Finally have 3 coats of paint on top of the primer. Also got a bunch of parts back from my buddy who sand blasted and primed them for me. Now I get to start reassembly with all my flashy new parts in the coming weeks. 😁
