Dug away the accumulated clutter from around the back of the Monte, reset the dollies, and proceeded to lift the rear up and shift the jack stands out from under the differential and out to the frame just ahead of the forward pivot points for the lower control arms. Next steps are to dismount the rear anti-sway bar, the shocks, the upper and lower control arms and the brake line at the tee and drop the assembly down onto the dollies so it can be extracted and introduced to a wire wheel on an air drive. Alos offers me the opportunity to pull the rear yoke and replace the outer pinion seal. (Or say screw it and use the complete rear end out of the 78 Cutlass. none of the diff's on the pile are posi-s.) The floor above it seems to have been given some respray love at some point in the past so only needs a touch up or two in some places. Also planning to drop the exhaust dumps post muffler and decide if I want to create new versions or just wire wheel the current ones and stuff them back in. Way easier to drop them with the rear end down and out of the way. Decisions, decisions.

Did a load test on the battery and wasnt really bad but noticed that disconnected the voltage seemed to jump around saying there may be something wrong with it so bit the bullet and went for a new battery. Thought all was fine and dandy until going out to a show and realize that the voltage is down in the 12's again. So got nervous and took the car back after the show instead of driving it some more. Took it yesterday for Advanced to test the alternator, they said it tested fine. So brought it to the shop this morning and pulled it to get a test at the place I got it, they say the same thing. Just not sure what else it can be since it seems to charge fine when first started but then like 15 minutes into driving it drops down into the 12's..... Gonna hook it back up and take the car there maybe tomorrow so hopefully it will be doing it then

Went to the Street Rod Nationals thurs through Sat. Didn't really take many pics this year, hung out and met some new people. My buddy Cory lives about 5 mins from me has this sick azz Monte with a gen4 5.3 soon to have an LSA blower. He autocrosses the fire out of it, has 275 square setup with Vette brakes, all UMI stuff and Viking coilovers...

Another local guy does YouTube stuff under G body garage. He did a walkaround of my car Thursday, didn't even tell me. I was watching his video and saw it, pretty cool. Go to the 4:25 mark....

And Lo and Behold, the crusty, rusty and dusty 10 bolt that used to hang from the suspension in my 85 SS is now riding on two of my dollies. The plan is to treat it to serious 4.5 grinder love and then rust prime it and final coat it. The old brake lines will get removed as will the old bleeders and new Stainless lines will get bent, using the steelies for templates. I have new bleeder nipples for the wheel cylinders. The bolts are in good shape so they will just get new clean nuts. The upper ears are going to have the old rubber bushings punched out, FINALLY!!, and the new poly-urethane ones will finally get removed from the downstairs fridge after ???? years and pressed/driven in. Along the way, the floor pan will get cleaned and its paint touched up as needed.

Are those old rev edelbrock heads or import ones?
Old ones...5th car they have been on...bought those the year they came out. Smoked so many cars with them it's not even funny...used to paint them until I had them polished a few years ago...everyone thought they were Olds heads when they were painted
