For the horn, do you have two & where are they at? (Can't remember if you Monte is a factory SS or not.) SS cars have them in the drivers fender by the vapor canister, regular cars had the on the left & right header brackets. All Montes did come with two.

That's why I ask, I only see the one in the drivers side by the canister and my horn had worked but recently noticed that it didn't. So when we found that wire I was wondering if that was a second horn wire because it looked like the other side but already had one there didn't know there was two

I'm guessing that when the nose conversion was done only on wire was made to extend over to the fender. Fish it out to have both wires at the fender. Check for a bad splice for the horn to quit working.

Forgot to say it is a real SS

My 85 SS has the two horns that have been described above. They are both attached to brackets that are bolted to the outside face of the rad cradle and would not tend to be visible with the S/S nose fascia and cover in place. The power wire is a dark green and power to the passenger side horn is a jumper wire in the same color that is attached to the wire that plugs into the driver side horn at the female plug in socket. A broken or never connected circuit wire is always a possibility. Could also be a broken contact in the steering wheel.

Haven't touched the rear end in my 85 as yet. Lungs are still giving me some grief and dust and damp do not help.
