Just me wondering here, but any specific reason for that loose nut, appears to be 1/4 NC, to be just sitting there and kind of leaning on both the rocker cover and the intake in the last picture?Pretty much wasted the weekend trying to get the Monte right for the G Body Classic so I'm not a second class citizen this year, called Holley after talking to them on Friday when they recommended I ground out the throttle body to see what it does. Tried that with no luck so call back expecting the next step for them to send out a replacement IAC motor, but the guy I got this time says to try turning down the AC dropdown since I am not running AC he said he had seen that cause problems. Make that adjustment and then when it starts running rough but running I make him stay on the phone a bit where he tells me he thinks if there is another issue it would be either o2 related or fuel itself. Well once it smooths out some I decide I have held him up enough so I left him off the phone, not even 5 seconds later chokes itself out again with all the same issues......

Yeah I took the pic while I had the throttle cable nut loose to ground it out, I put that back on tight so it did what Holley asked in troubleshooting. But the next guy I talked to immediately dismissed that and went to more fuel related. My buddy looked it up and it is seeming to be regular problem with the internal fuel pressure regulator, so I guess they just want to verify it is getting enough in before they decide it is possibly thatJust me wondering here, but any specific reason for that loose nut, appears to be 1/4 NC, to be just sitting there and kind of leaning on both the rocker cover and the intake in the last picture?

My a body 350 Buick headers fit quite literally like a glove. They are very close to the floor as well.Buttoned up the install of the Thornton headers and Pypes down pipes (DOF10S) this morning. Funny that they are spec’d for ‘68-‘72 BB Olds A-bodies but they fit just fine on my 350 Olds in my ‘80 Cutlass with no clearance issues at all. While under the car it’s clear that it will need more attention everything is dusty and dirty and I noticed my vintage turbo mufflers are showing some rot, not to mention choking the 2.5” Pypes down to the old school tubing bender 2” system I had made 30 years ago. I had to widen the notch on my crossmember another 2”s so I could mend the new pipes to the old ones nice and straight. That went pretty well since I had heavy angle iron and flat stock under the bench. Also had to re route my trans cooling lines to clear the new set up. Going to go and see if I can find 10w40 oil for old engines at the local shops and start it up tonight or tomorrow, been a real hot day and not much cooling off this week.
