What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2023]

Followed some more troubleshooting suggested by Holley, tested the block to frame ground and it zeroed out. Tried to upload a tune and update the firmware and they both errored so will be calling them today to see what they say it means..... While I was there I put a new neck and gasket on the intake since the old one would still leak, peaked at the transmission to see why the rpm signal stopped showing on the Dakota but didn't see anything obvious
Small steps. At least you're also catching up on smaller issues that needed to be addressed anyways.

I was wondering, did you ever check if they were planning on having a rep/tech guy into your neck of the woods for some type of car show? Might be a chance one of their guys would want to, or be willing to, take a peek for a few minutes at the event if it was close enough to make it there.

A guy who knows the product hands on would be worth 100 phone jockeys who are reading through a checklist.

Maybe they wouldn't, but, 20 years ago tech guys at the shows could and would help out in situations where there's been a lot of effort but limited headway. Both customer-service wise, and, to improve the knowledge base for future custom problems

Umm, have you taken a good hard look at the pic of the block ground?
mclellan83 how much does that jiggle when you grab that..

That's what I said over the weekend to see if at this point they can have a guy come out, I have jumped through every hoop they have suggested. I will give them that they did work with me and send out another sniper so that I wasn't stuck with the polished one. But doesn't really do any good if it won't be reliable anymore

That was taken as I was loosening it to test for continuity

At that point it was jiggling quite a bit because it was almost off to test

Even if you had to look at a calender of events, find something holley sponsors or announced they will be at, then call, get it escalated, and ask the higher level personnel if you manage to bring your car to xyz event, would one of their techs be willing to help with in person support due to the ongoing issues.

Yeah, threw that bug in their ear. They had a good suggestion which I will try before going there, they are saying that since I have kept the same handheld since I painted it and is a huge pain to run that may be the current problem. They think that there might be a power issue with the can, they suggested using a laptop or swapping one of the other screens in to see what happens.

Continuing with fixing the little problems on the Bonneville, when I pulled my serpentine belt off I found that my alternator bearings were squeaking as it rotated. Likely as a result of the belt having too much tension on it.

I went ahead and got a new alternator installed and added a better bracket to the charge post to attach all my wiring to.
