Changed the wife's oil tonight. Catch can seems to be working.

For the intellectually sophisticated:

For the drooling inbred savages:

I'm happy to be a drooling inbred savage if it means I don't have to expose myself to that disgusting relic of communism they call the metric system.

I prefer freedom units.

Replaced the rear shoes and one wheel cylinder on the "new" gas mixer I bought. Fought with the first side for an hour trying to figure out why I couldn't get them to fit inside the brake drum. Ended up the the adjuster couldn't fit all the way into the slot on the shoes. Had to file the shoes just a tick and then it went all the way in and I could use the adjuster to bring them out to touch the drums like they're supposed to be. Other side took 15 minutes. LOL

Got the oil changed on the Outback, Castrol Edge and an OEM Subaru filter. Ordered new Akebono brake pads for it front and rear from RockAuto. I'm hoping I can cut the rotors. I also impulsively bought a Subaru plate frame for it while I was at the dealer, not that I regret it 😛

Went to the Mazda dealer and bought a few oil filters and 6 quarts of Mazda 0w20 for my Dad's CX-5. The Mazda oil has 600+ ppm of moly in it, so I wanted to try it for sh*ts and giggles.

Then rolled the Regal out of the garage, used the leaf blower to blow a ton of leaves and dust and crap out. I changed out the burnt bulbs in the garage door opener above the Regal. I moved the garage door buttons from the far sides of the garage doors to the middle, in between the doors. It makes so much more sense, they are way easier to access, no need to walk all the way around the garage to hit the button. That also means the careless people I live with don't have to walk around my Regal to open the door.

Bought a 1987 GMC R2500 Suburban Seirra Classic this passed weekend. RWD, 454 TBI, TH400. $1500 delivered to my house, non running. Got it kind of running, replacing 32 year old parts until it does.

P/O said the timing chain was bad. I dont necessarily think it is... But I might as well replace it and replace a few leaky gaskets while I'm in there.
The top end of this 454 has been off before, fairly recently. Orange rtv everywhere, new felpro intake and VC gaskets...

Got this far yesterday before it got dark.
