Holy hell. The kitchen faucet had a drip and so was the outside hose bib, so I decided to play Luigi and fix them. I'm getting hard of hearing and couldn't give 2 sh*ts about the faucet. But, the outside hose bib bothered the hell out of me, and the wife was bitching about the sink because she works from home 2 day a week- in the kitchen. So, off to Home Depot I go. I didn't realize how many different goddamn Moen cartridges there are. Fahk. A salesperson was actually helpful for a change, and told me how simple it was to pull the cartridge to see the part number. Here we go. I got the old one apart after nearly admitting defeat, and throwing in the towel to the Google machine. Oh, there's a special tool that comes with the new cartridge. Yeah, the one that I don't know the ****ing part number for! Ok, make said special tool.

Instructions say to move it back and forth a 1/4 turn each way. WTF? Finally got it freed up and removed. No, it doesn't unscrew; the special took just breaks it loose. Get the cartridge out, try to put it back together, and it gets stuck 2/3 of the way in. Fvck! I tried every trick in my bag, and couldn't get it out. Alright, regroup. I know what the part number is now; I'm good. Back to home depot, get a cartridge, and, just in case, a new faucet- it is 5p on a Sunday. Getting straight medieval on a slide hammer got it out. Drop the new cartridge in, and........ same ****ing thing!!!!!!!

Out with the old, in with the new

So far, the hose bib isn't dripping anymore, and hopefully the wife will quit bitching......about the drip, anyway.
