What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2019]

Been working pretty hard on this free Craftsman tractor I picked up last week. Been fixing problems and finding more as I go along.

I've replaced the hydro transmission fan, the magneto, the spark plug, repaired the alternator, adjusted the throttle cable, replaced the head gasket, and adjusted the valves. I attempted to rebuild the walbro carb that was on it, but it was so corroded inside that the brass pieces just stripped out when you try to remove them. So I replaced it with an aftermarket Nikki style one. It runs with the aftermarket carb, but it's surging and backfiring at full throttle. I reamed out the idle control jet, which may have helped a little but not much. But it is up and running and I can move it around under it's own power now.

I'm going to pick up a locked up 18.5 HP parts engine on Sunday that I should be able to swap the carb from as well as some other odds and ends I need.

Hopefully the last of my work on the bathroom part that my tenant is dragging his feet on, guess that goes along with the plumber that owed me money so was doing the job to pay me back. Got a working sink in the kitchen after a few weeks, only to do the dishes that night and have it leaking :blam:

These pics should give you guys some hope, all the parts I scuffed looked pretty rough to begin with and now look like got a lot done with them.

The difference in color on the last one is the full unit sprayed with a matte clear then the top just finished painting the caps gunmetal grey before all of the top piece got the matte clear as well

Placed an order for a new one.

I played around with that Chinese clone Nikki carb for a while and I just couldn't get it to stop surging.

So I decided to take one last shot at removing the stripped jet in the original carb. I hammered a torx bit into it and it zipped right out with an impact driver. So I replaced the jets, needle and seat and the bowl gaskets, and put it back on the tractor. Starts right up and runs great. Also replaced that steering wheel too. Need to do an actual tune up on it, then I'll probably start playing with the Regal again whilst keeping an eye out for a deck.
