Took some time to foam out a few toolbox drawers...

Big Elon Teslas are scary as they are 1984 mobiles. They watch and record everything the driver does as well as everything around the car, then send it all back to Tesla HQ. The cars record everything the driver does on the internet and paired smartphones too. Cars should be airgapped.

Tesla redflags owners who tinker on their cars. The result of that is redflag owners are the last to get software updates into their cars. Plus they can remotely alter the car like expand or reduce its driving range. Teslas are big tech cars meant for big tech groupies who don't mind being constantly spied on. Big Elon is watching you.

I would have boycotted the cruise with a Tesla showing up....👎
I was thinking the same thing, but it's hard to argue with mid 10's in the 1/4. You don't want none off a stop light.
Exactly what I was going to say, personally been a fan boy from the beginning on them in general. I like the way they look and how they actually integrate tech into them, I have to agree I don't like all the spying it is probably doing. But they get you one way or another, personally driving a P100D even as its batteries were dying so wasn't as powerful was still crazy to feel that kind of pull.

Just working on selling the TBSS, made a walkaround video the other day for a couple of "interested" parties.

You'd think I had a respiratory disease with the heavy breathing? But it was 40*C with the humidity (also why I was topless and free-balling it... look at my nipples! LOOK AT THEM!!!) and the pollen count is through the roof making my allergies go haywire - also it is really quiet out here most of the time.

And then of course there is the inevitable case of the stupids that comes out:

Peter: I know you got a lot of coin in it. But realistically what are you going to let it go for ?
Me: You've seen the list of parts (in the truck and included with it) and a detailed video of the vehicle. That's full disclosure on my end. Tell me why it is worth anything less than it is listed for? If you can show me a comparable TBSS in Canada for less I'll consider negotiating my price.

... radio silence.
I tuned in for the nips, but am too ADHD to play it straight through so missed them. I am sure I missed quite the view

Your loss.

Dug out the set of shop manuals that I acquired for my S-10 some years ago and boned up on how to remove and replace the alternator. Seems straightforward enough just looking at it but Murphy is always ready and willing to jump in and screw things up.

So far today I opened the swamp... I mean our family pool lol next head to work and put away the tools I left out and pack a bag to work on the new truck. Then it's off to the building to drop off the pressure washer and tinker with the g-body before I go home and rip the truck apart. I think it's going to be nice to have a more modern daily

In addition to being a car guy, apparently I'm supposed to be a house guy? I guess it comes with the territory of refusing to pay assrape labor rates. My deck was pretty hammered, 20 or so years old and rotted boards all over. I tried sanding and pressure washing to no avail. It was just too far gone to look worth a sh*t when I go to sell in 5 or so years and to enjoy in the meantime. Luckily the bones we're good, so a simple resurfacing and re fascia-ing(?) was the immediate plan.

The guts cleaned up real nice with the pressure washer. I dreaded repairing or replacing the railings.

They're grey, nasty, and hammered like the surface was. Once we got them off and saw the deck without them, we decided we liked it better that way so more firewood for camping for us. Here's a comparison of old vs new.

Uhh, yeah. Way less splintery. To get to this point took a couple weeks of d!ck!ng around, googling, and waffling on the way ahead. The other side will take an afternoon or 2 since I can now rinse and repeat the first side's methodology. I ended up grabbing a compound miter saw for this job, which greatly enhances my ability to do exhaust and intercooler pipe work. Here we are tonight.

Tomorrow the stairs and fascia board come off. I'll resurface this side and then proceed to build an 8 foot wide staircase with no railings, let the pressure treated wood dry, and stain the whole thing. The interwebs claim the boards take months to dry, but the state of CO has determined that to be a lie. 1 week tops and wet boards butted up against one another suddenly have a 1/4" gap.

The grill seems appropriately placed. Figure the cooler of beer is behind you in the last picture?🍺🍺😁

I've had my M&P shield for a couple years and no issues, but have been thinking about upgrading to a compact sized pistol to increase capacity, but still be concealable. Decided to stop by a shop earlier to look around. Ended up getting a great trade in price on my shield, and picked up this Sig P320. Super nice, holds 15+1, and get to take it to CCDW class next weekend.
