Cool truck. I have a 77 4x4 highboy dually. I doubt it is a 390 unless it was swapped in. 390's were car engines and 352, 360's were truck engines. Good engines. I have a lot 360 parts if you end up needing something?

Nonsense! The 390 short block in Dad's Galaxie is a 74 truck engine.

Just put a new gas tank in it. It runs good. 400 engine. The bad, the tires are rotten now and the interior needs stripped and cleaned. Rodents have been in it. 1500 bucks and it is yours!

If I put 4 tires on it will it make it from IA to PA?

I know. Ford put all kinds of crazy combinations in these trucks in those years. A 360 is more common though. I get tired of people all saying they have a 390 when they are 360's.

I am sure it would. Need to put a new heater core in it first. It started leaking a few years ago and is bypassed right now. The AC would probably work too if I change it. The best part about the wheels that are on it now is. They are 16.5 rims. The tires that are on it are the old Hummer tires. So you can get a set of slightly used military tires for 500 bucks. Come get it so I don't have to deal with all the dumb kids wanting to buy it with no money!

I saw a pu truck on the side of the road today with a rear wheel that looked as tweaked as the steer tire/rim in this pic.

when i measure tomorrow we shall find out. afaik 77 was the LAST year for 390s, and from what ive read it was just the leftover blocks. but i agree. every 360 is a 390, every 396 is a 454, every 305 is a 350.
