Summit ****ed up and only sent me one carrier bearing, so I had to order one from oreillys. of course they lost the part so I had to go to another oreillys to get the 2nd bearing. got that one and the ring gear off. I didn't have a tool to remove the old carrier bearings, so being that the old carrier was trash anyway, out came the angle grinder to get the old shims off.

got it buttoned up at 3am after officer newman left me a nice note. think it's either the dumbasses working on the sh*t shack next door to this big *ss split foyer they built across the street, or the jackasses within that reported my truck being parked outside my house for two weeks. at risk of it being towed, i had to jam to get it together. New axle flange seals, diff cover gasket, knocked the plug loose with a 9/16 head bolt and a pipe wrench, and carrier all installed in a very cold few hours.

I drove the truck around and besides a shingle nail in my pass rear tire (thanks construction douches), it seems to be ok. 3 quarts of fluid is all it took, I read dana 60/61 take 4 or 5. Might need to top it off later. No weird noises, clunks, or fires. Yet.
In the future, if you just cut into the race then smack the cut spot with a wide chisel it'll shatter in two.

Did some wood working to make a Thin Blue Line flag for my Brother-In-Law. He retires from our local Sheriffs after 25 years of service this Jan.

He gets it this Christmas.

Very nice gesture, but I hope the surprise is not ruined by him maybe seeing your post.
He's not a car guy per se, and not a G-Body nut for sure. No way he see's this. If I thought he would, I wouldn't post it.

Technically this was yesterday. Took the TBSS out for it's weekly leg stretch because COVID really is making the cars "self-divest". Hit the remote start and it struggles to life in the -10*C weather. Get in and sure as sh*t it has the "low battery" light illuminated on the dash. Cleared up by the time we got to daycare, the battery showed a full charge when it was parked. Might need to put (another) battery tender on this thing. Spending $60 to save $200 feels stupid.

Guess I could call CAA and have them boost it once a week? Its not like that membership is very helpful these days either.

Yay. Home ownership. Not knowing when to leave stuff alone.

Getting JACKED. Do you even lift bro!?!

Finally took all the slack out of the jacks and I'm moving the living room floor now. Got about 3/4" to go. Stuff is hard to turn now and creaking so it's moving.

And the microwave is bolted in and working. I've got a plan for the top doors (just going to cut the original doors to like 6" tall) and then solve the gaps on either side.
