I tried to save the sending unit in the imp today. The 90-0 ohm sender was reading 125-20, which would explain why it would run out of gas at 1/8 tank. In the end, the resistance was still too high and the brittle 25 y.o. plastic made me nervous so I decided to order a new one.

Muncie rebuild day- the guys at AutoGear said that the relationship between the syncro and cone on the gear is like rings on a cylinder bore. 4th looks glazed to me. I have to press the main shaft apart yet, but this moreorless confirms my suspicion of why it was acting up. Under full throttle, it was fine. It wouldn't come out of gear after a part throttle cruise. I think the syncros were sticking.

Replaced the cheap azz rear shocks on my Tahoe. Tahoe rides like a new one. The headliner was sagging in several places. I sprayed liberal amounts of 3M aerosol adhesive on the crumbled foam and the headliner material. After about 1 minute to allow the adhesive to get tacky I used a soft brush to smooth the headliner out. I was standing outside the driver's door and was brushing from the middle to the window. It turned out pretty good. I hopped in the driver's seat to press it down more firmly with my hands. It was at that moment I noticed the fabric was about an inceh from the upper door trim. The adhesive was already holding real good so I left it like that. No one will ever know.IMG_20200224_140728.jpgIMG_20200224_140833.jpg
